Bonnie and Fin C WE had the most amazing show at Nice CDI, France winning the hattrick of the FEI Pony Team class, the FEI Pony Individual class and the FEI Pony Freestyle to Music class for Great Britain.
Pony Team Class s core 68% - Pony Individual Class 71.49% - Pony Freestyle Class 73.49%
It took us two days to travel the 1000kms to Nice. The first night we stopped over at Dijon and we were quite worried as Fin had not managed the journey as well as he normally would. After much walking and keeping an eye on him throughout the night, we soldiered on and reached Nice after about 8 hours.
The organisers were very understanding and the following morning Fin was allowed to stretch his legs in one of the lunge pens. Luckily he had spent a much better night and was absolutely on form after a roll and play in the sand. He floated through the trot up, with Bonnie having to make sure he didnt get away from her with his enthusiasm!
The Pony Team Test was a nerve wracking experience with Bonnie being extremely tense but Fin took her safely round and they won with a 3% margin. The following day Bonnie was on top form and managed a personal best score and again a 3% margin. Anyone that knows Bonnie will know how she particularly hates the Freestyle class and she was so nervous at the start of the class. However, her sponsor, Ros Emery-Kay, told her to listen to her music and watch a previous film of her riding to it which helped emensely and they scored another personal best with one judge giving them a score of 77%!!!
The trip home was quite eventful and Fin travelled much better. We decided to push on for home on the second day, rather than do another stopover and reached home at 4am.
